Accessing Your HD Homerun Prime from over the Internet – Followup

Something was wrong with the comment system so I’m posting this followup to HDHomerun prime over the Internet

Once your vpn is connected, you are essentially connected with a long “virtual” network cable – you are essentially “at home” and connected to your home network.  If your windows media center tv isn’t working right off the bat, you should troubleshoot your HDHomerun Prime just like you would if you were at home.

1-Disable any firewalls
2- Start the HDHomerun Service
3- Run the HDHomerun setup program – make sure it finds your tuners.
4- Lastly, Open a command prompt as Administrator and type this:
c:windowsehomeehprivjob.exe /OCURDiscovery

It should find all 3 tuners

Run the WMC setup wizard again
